Naming changes

As part of the alignment with Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus, we are adopting common terminology to make it as easy as possible to understand the servicing process. Going forward, these are the new terms we will be using:

• Semi-Annual Channel - We will be referreing to Current Branch (CB) as "Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted)", while Current Branch for Business (CBB) will simply be referred to as "Semi-Annual Channel".

Current branch for Business สายนี้จะอัพเดตฟีเจอร์ใหม่ให้ Windows 10 แต่จะรอให้ผู้ใช้ทั่วไปทดสอบฟีเจอร์ใหม่ๆ เหล่านี้กันสัก 2-3 เดือน เพื่อทดสอบว่าฟีเจอร์ไม่มีปัญหากับตลาดองค์กรเสียก่อน ข้อดีของสายนี้คือได้ฟีเจอร์ใหม่อย่างมีคุณภาพ เหมาะสำหรับเครื่องไคลเอนต์ของพนักงานในองค์กร

• Long-Term Servicing Channel - The Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB) will be referred to as Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC).

Long Term Servicing branch (LTS แบบเดียวกับ Ubuntu) สายนี้จะอัพเดตเฉพาะแพตช์ความปลอดภัยตลอดอายุการสนับสนุน 10 ปีของ Windows 10 (5 ปี mainstream + 5 ปี extended) โดยไม่มีฟีเจอร์ใหม่ใดๆ เหมาะสำหรับงานเซิร์ฟเวอร์ที่ต้องการเสถียรภาพแบบสุดๆ

• ไมโครซอฟท์จะออก LTS branch ใหม่ทุกช่วงเวลาหนึ่ง โดยจะรวมฟีเจอร์ใหม่ที่เกิดขึ้นระหว่างนั้นเข้ามา แต่เมื่อออก LTS branch แล้วจะไม่อัพเดตฟีเจอร์อะไรอีก ถ้าอยากได้ฟีเจอร์ใหม่ต้องอัพเกรดทั้ง branch เลย หรืออาจเลือกอัพเกรดเป็นบาง branch ก็ได้
